Love Bites

Today's theme is "Love Bites" and our featured book is ETERNAL by Cynthia Leitich Smith. Again, we'd love to hear your suggestions.

With diabolical wit, the author of TANATALIZE revisits a deliciously dark world where vampires vie with angels — and girls just want to have fangs.

At last, Miranda is the life of the party: all she had to do was die. Elevated and adopted by none other than the reigning King of the Mantle of Dracul, Miranda goes from high-school theater wannabe to glamorous royal fiend overnight. Meanwhile, her reckless and adoring guardian angel, Zachary, demoted to human guise as the princess’s personal assistant, has his work cut out for him trying to save his girl’s soul and plan the Master’s fast-approaching Death Day gala. In alternating points of view, Miranda and Zachary navigate a cut-throat eternal aristocracy as they play out a dangerous and darkly hilarious love story for the ages.

Since you said we can blatantly self-promote our own books, I'm nominating my HARD LOVE and LOVE & LIES for the Love Bites list. Unless, of course, you really want only vampire books, in which case, ignore the above. -- Ellen Wittlinger

Thanks for thinking of ETERNAL!

I'd like to add:

BLOOD AND CHOCOLATE as well as THE SILVER KISS, both by Annette Curtis Klause (Delacorte)(wolves bite, too);

IMMORTAL LOVE STORIES WITH BITE, edited by P.C. Cast (BenBella);

and Marlene Perez's DEAD IS... series.

Ellen, love the recommendations! It's not just vampire novels. All sorts of bites. Even computer bytes.

Good recommendation! I read the excerpt for Eternal and am definitely buying it on Tuesday, or as soon afterwards as physically possible.
