Which young adult novels did you think were the best of 2008?

Feel free to include overlooked, understocked, and misunderstood favorites.

Some of my favorites this year include:

THE ADORATION OF JENNA FOX by Mary Pearson
IMPOSSIBLE by Nancy Werlin
GRACELING by Kristen Cashore
THE SPECTACULAR NOW by Tim Tharp

What were your favorites?

Hunger Games
Adoration of Jennifer Fox
Other Side of the Island

I guess I like dystopias, even though I have never written one.

My Most Excellent Year: A Novel of Love, Mary Poppins, and Fenway Park
by Steve Kluger.

I'm on the wait list for Hunger Games.

I also really liked Paper Towns, but then again a John Green novel is always a give favorite.

I really need to find a job, because I'm just not patient enough for library copies.

Linda Joy, awwwh, thanks for saying that!

I haven't read LITTLE BROTHER YET. I'm really looking forward to it.

And Lauren, great list! And of course, you HAVE to include Greg's book.

April, my daughter loves dystopias. The bleaker the better.

Chris, I LOVE Steve Kluger, but I haven't read his new one yet. I have put myself on a book budget this year.

Tough question, LOL! So many good YAs out there. But here are a few of my faves for 2008:
The Hunger Games (Suzanne Collins)
The Disreputable History of Frankie-Landau Banks (E. Lockhart)
Getting The Girl (Susan Juby)

Oh, Shari,

How could I forget E. Lockhart's DISREPUTABLE HISTORY OF FRANKIE LANDAU-BANKS? I LOVED this book, but I read it early in the year, so I forgot. FRANKIE's definitely in my top ten!!
